Tarmonbarry Marina Development
Civil works contract for the construction of a 90 berth marina adjacent to the River Shannon in the Village of Tarmonbarry. Construction involved the excavation of 40,000m3 in the marina and 25,000m3 of excavation in the inlet channel leading from the River Shannon. This was achieved by the construction of a temporary cofferdam constructed of dense boulder clay across the proposed mouth of the inlet and extending out into the Shannon. The Marina walls consisted of 2,000m2 of Reinforced Earth topped off with a concrete Apron extending 10 metres behind the Quay walls. Contract also included the construction of 600 metres of access roads and footpaths and services to the residential development surrounding the Marina.
