URBAN RELIEF ROAD AND FLOOD PROTECTION SCHEME ALONG THE RIVER BARROW IN CARLOW
Temporary sheet piled wall facilitated the construction of the reinforced concrete flood retaining walls (100 year flood level) and the installation of a permanent sheet piled wall with precast stone cladding panels. Stone facing walls with limestone caps along the river bank accommodates traditional quayside railing.
The completion of the works involved extensive brick paving, street furniture and landscaping to create an enhanced amenity area along the River Barrow in Carlow Town incorporated with the new Urban Relief Road.
